Expected to generate ₹4,700 crore in revenue, it promises a seamless travel experience.

Uttar Pradesh Embarks on Ambitious Bus Terminal Revamp

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has launched a transformative ₹2,700 crore project to modernize six major bus terminals across the state—Ghaziabad, Lucknow (Gomti Nagar and Amausi), Prayagraj, Kaushambi, and Ayodhya. Awarded to BeTogether, a subsidiary of real estate firm Omaxe Ltd, the initiative operates under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, aiming to elevate public transport infrastructure while fostering economic development through integrated commercial spaces.

Each terminal will feature state-of-the-art amenities, including automated ticketing systems, real-time digital schedule displays, air-conditioned waiting lounges, comfortable seating with charging stations, escalators, lifts, and advanced security measures. Clean, modern facilities such as toilets and diverse food courts will ensure passenger comfort. The terminals will also incorporate heritage-inspired architecture blended with contemporary design, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Beyond transport upgrades, the project includes significant commercial developments. Retail spaces, food courts, banquet halls, studio apartments, and office areas will transform these terminals into vibrant transit and business hubs. Ample parking and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will cater to modern mobility needs. The total saleable area across the six projects is 45.59 lakh square feet, with a combined built-up area of 70.80 lakh square feet, promising substantial economic returns estimated at over ₹4,700 crore.

The initiative aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s broader vision to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion. By integrating advanced technology and commercial prospects, the revamped terminals are expected to set a new standard for public transport infrastructure in India, benefiting millions of commuters and stimulating local economies.
