The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has embarked on an ambitious ₹2,700 crore project to modernize six key bus terminals across the state, in collaboration with BeTogether, a subsidiary of real estate giant Omaxe Ltd. The terminals in Ghaziabad, Lucknow (Gomti Nagar and Amausi), Prayagraj, Kaushambi, and Ayodhya are set to undergo a comprehensive upgrade under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, aiming to revolutionize public transport infrastructure.
Announced in March 2025, the project integrates state-of-the-art facilities with heritage-inspired architecture to enhance passenger convenience and boost commercial potential. Each terminal will feature automated ticketing systems, real-time digital schedule displays, air-conditioned waiting lounges, comfortable seating with charging stations, escalators, lifts, and advanced security measures. Additionally, the terminals will house modern amenities such as clean toilets, diverse food courts, and ample parking with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The modernization effort is expected to generate over ₹4,700 crore in revenue, with a total saleable area of 45.59 lakh square feet and a combined built-up area of 70.80 lakh square feet across the six projects. Beyond improving transit facilities, the terminals will serve as vibrant commercial hubs, incorporating retail spaces, banquet halls, studio apartments, and office areas.
